“Can a woman forget her sucking child,
that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb?
yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee.
Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of My hands;
thy walls are continually before Me.”
Isaiah 49:15-16, KJV
A pretty bunch of Forget-me-nots sit in a jar, adorning the table by the window. Fresh picked with the sparkling dew. All is quiet. The busy world has not yet stirred. Yet another day with its chores and cares. So busy and yet lonesome for earthly loves often fly away. Promises so easily sometimes are broken, and now all forgotten.
Loneliness. What sad note does it bring? Perhaps the loss of one dear, unrequited love, or hopes disappeared. Enveloped by many voices and yet lonesome for no one can see the pain within, nor understand, nor hear.
When in the middle of the night, prayer is but a faint groan, there comes the voice of Christ who loves you so.
The words of King David ring – “How precious also are Thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them! If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with Thee.” (Psalm 139:17,18 KJV)
The Lord loves and knows you, more than you can grasp. He understands you better than you can. He sees all your ways – the hills and the valleys. He knows your every fear, hears the words that your mouth has yet to speak.
He knew you before you were born.
As you step out each day, remember – He goes before you preparing the way, and then walks along beside you. Never has He, nor will He ever leave your side. The only One you will ever need. All blessings lesser though dear, are found in Him. Joys of earth are but the expression of His goodness to you. His heart beats with love for you.
Let Christ’ love flow through you, a healing balm to others in need. Give away comfort and joy, for they will surely return the same way to you.
The joys you once lost will come back in greater measure, because of the Lord’s love. The One who has engraved you in His hands; the One who will never forget.
Look up today into His eyes, and hear Him say, “I can’t stop thinking of you!”
